What Supplement(s) Should You Take To Regulate Your Body?

What Supplement(s) Should You Take To Regulate Your Body?

We often get asked, “What supplements should I take to regulate my body and/or balance my hormones?”
And our answer is usually "what does your typical lifestyle look like?"

We ask this because that's what deserves most priority. While sea moss and other herbs and supplements are great for everyday maintainence, it's import to give thought to how it can help, when it can help, and when it may not be necessary on a daily basis.

How are your day-to-day behaviours and habits potentially influencing your health and hormonal experiences? What does your health currently look like? Why is your health in it's state and what have you done to manage it thus far?
Because we're not health professionals, we ask these questions to ensure that you've either seen your primary health professional, and/or understand the pros and cons of choosing natural remedies. Natural remedies are these things we can take that can have less side effects than pharmaceuticals, are typically non addictive and can definitely support our body into shifting into a healthier change, but knowing the foundation of your health is key.

It's these daily impacts where the magic in health and wellness happens — don't get us wrong, sea moss and supplements play their role in the magic, but depending on them to do all of the work with a less-than-ideal lifestyle, is very unlikely to work.

Think of it like working out yet still eating junk. Experiencing excessive body odour but masking it with odour control products. Getting sick or experiencing pain but not taking the means to maintain your body. Sometimes some of it is out of our control, but a lot of times, it's within it.
We say this to say, you can't out supplement a crappy lifestyle, and it's better to be proactive than reactive. If we can understand what we're trying to address, and why, we can be sure what supplements will pair well with you.

There's no way to sugar coat this.

No taking of regulating supplements or hormone balancing formulas can compete long-term with poor sleep, high stress, a traumatized nervous system, eating of excessive processed foods, smoking, or drinking of alcohol.

To help you cut through the noise of what to do to make impactful changes in your health to "reset," we need to go back to the basics — the fundamentals of health.

Here are some foundational pillars that we encourage people, especially women, to focus on to optimize their health (whatever the goal may be):
  1. Eat Whole Foods
  2. Get Quality Sleep
  3. MANAGE THAT STRESS
  4. Detox (Internally & Externally)
  5. Stay Active
  6. Avoid Toxins
To put it another way, a great first step to start understanding how these fundamentals are showing up for you is to watch yourself for 1 typical week (not when you're off or "have time," make the time) and ask:

How am I eating? How am I sleeping? How may stress be showing up in my life and how does it make me feel?
Once we ask and understand those things, THEN we ask, what supplements can you take to help regulate and optimize your body? For example:
- Want to cleanse without doing a full, potentially rigorous detox? The natural chlorophyll in our green sea moss will help deodorize and gently detox the body.
- Maybe you get sick often or constantly feel legarthic. That's when we'd recommend our purple sea moss that's naturally high in anti-oxidants that protect from the effects of environmental stressors such as pollutants and free radicals.
- Daily maintenance to look and feel golden? Our gold sea moss is for you.

When we start to focus on the right things, long-term change will come, and your sea moss + wellness supplements will seal the deal by being that sweet icing on top.
