🧊 Sea Moss Ice Cubes 🧊
(From Dry Sea Moss)
🫙 Ingredients:
-
1 cup dry sea moss
-
Filtered or spring water (for soaking and blending)
-
Optional add-ins (choose one or combine):
-
Juice of ½ key lime or lemon
-
1 tsp fresh grated ginger
-
A few drops of oregano oil
-
A few fresh mint leaves
-
1 tbsp elderberry syrup
-
1 tsp honey or agave
-
🧼 Step 1: Clean the Sea Moss
-
Rinse thoroughly under cool to cold water to remove sand, salt, and debris.
-
Use your fingers to scrub and inspect. Rinse 2–3 times or until water runs clear.
💧 Step 2: Soak the Sea Moss
-
Place cleaned sea moss in a bowl, preferably glass.
-
Cover with 3–4x its volume in filtered water.
-
Optional: Add lime or lemon to the soaking water.
-
Soak for 12–24 hours at room temperature, or in the fridge (no boiling needed).
-
After soaking, it will expand and become gelatinous and light in colour, resembling an overcooked noodle consistency.
🌀 Step 3: Blend Into Gel
-
Drain the soaked sea moss. The water can be used on your skin, in your hair, or discarded.
-
Add sea moss to a high-speed blender with fresh filtered water (start with 1 cup, add more for a thinner consistency).
-
Blend until completely smooth—or to your desired texture.
❄️ Step 4: Make Ice Cubes
-
Optional: Add ginger, lemon, mint, or sweeteners before blending or stir in after.
-
Pour the sea moss gel mixture into ice cube trays.
-
Freeze for 4–6 hours, overnight, or until solid.
-
Store cubes in a freezer-safe container or silicone bag for up to 3 months.
🥤 How to Use:
-
Drop 1–2 cubes into smoothies, herbal tea, lemon water, or your Peach Raspberry Sangria.
-
Great for on-the-go wellness without daily prep.
- Can be used on the skin, in food, or consumed as is.
